A rewarding opportunity awaits for a passionate Special Education Teacher eager to inspire elementary students in a supportive Montessori environment. Located near Monticello, MN, this on-site contract position spans from September 8, 2026, through June 3, 2027, offering a consistent weekday schedule from 7am to 3pm (37.5 hours per week). You'll work with students in grades K-6th, supporting individual growth and fostering a love for learning through small group instruction in a collaborative, shared classroom space.
Key Qualifications:
- Current state licensure (or eligibility) in Special Education for elementary grades (K-6th)
- Demonstrated experience or strong interest in Montessori or similar student-focused instructional methods
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs and abilities of students in small groups
- Strong communication skills for collaboration with fellow educators, support staff, and families
- Creative problem-solving abilities and a compassionate, flexible approach to teaching
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging special education services within a Montessori elementary setting
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment where students feel valued and supported
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and monitor student progress
- Collaborate with general education teachers and paraprofessionals in a shared instructional space
- Communicate regularly with families regarding student goals, progress, and strategies for success
