CATERING CAPTAIN (ON CALL)

Overview We are hiring immediately for on-call Catering Captain positions. Location: Morgan Stanley Westchester – 2000 Westchester Avenue, Purchase, NY 10577. Note: online applications accepted only. Schedule: On-call schedule; days and hours may vary. More details provided at interview. Compensation: Fixed pay rate of $32.00 per hour. Experience: Prior fine dining experience is preferred. Responsibilities Coordinates catering staff schedules to ensure functions are delivered, served, and cleared in a timely fashion. Prepares and serves food at scheduled functions under supervision of the Catering Director. May drive a truck to deliver food and beverages to catered functions. Determine workload requirements from catering orders and meet with function group leaders to discuss setup arrangements, address last-minute changes, and resolve problems. Interact with customers and resolve complaints in a service-oriented manner. Instruct staff on work expectations for catered functions and help set up rooms to desired specifications. Assemble and deliver food and supplies to scheduled locations and serve food and beverages to guests. Return unused food, beverages, and serving equipment to the catering facility and maintain proper presentation, portion control, and serving temperatures in accordance with HACCP standards. Maintain sanitation and orderliness of equipment, supplies, and utensils; follow approved recipes and production standards. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications A valid driver's license may be required. Must possess or be able to obtain a valid food handler's permit and/or alcohol server permit where required by state law.
