Registered Nurse – ER (Simi Valley, California) Registered Nurse – ER | Simi Valley, California | Start 09/14/2026 | 13 weeks | $604-$626 per week | Guaranteed hours: 0 | Shift: 3x12 evenings | Travel assignment in a hospital setting This ER travel assignment is for a 120-bed facility with an ED that includes 18 ED beds, integrating ultrasound for IV access and targeted patient management. The ED operates 24/7 with on-unit phlebotomy, a hospital PICC team, and 24/7 pharmacy coverage. The assignment requires evenings to nights and weekend coverage per unit scheduling. Key Highlights Weekly pay: $604-$626 per week Contract duration: 13 weeks Shift: 3x12 evenings Start date: 09/14/2026 Setting: ER travel assignment in a hospital with ED-specific support services Guaranteed hours: 0 Responsibilities Provide professional nursing care in the Emergency Department, including triage, initial assessment, continuous monitoring, and accurate documentation Administer medications, IV therapies, and fluids per physician orders; monitor patient response and adjust care as needed Perform ED procedures within scope (central lines, procedural sedations, TEE, bronchoscopies, bubble studies, paracentesis, lumbar punctures, blood patches) as required by patient needs Collaborate with ED physicians, nurses, unit secretaries, phlebotomy staff, PICC team, and transport personnel to coordinate care and patient flow Utilize ED-specific equipment and systems (ultrasound for IV access; Cerner and LaunchPoint EMR; Pyxis med dispensing) and contribute to rapid clinical decision-making in a high-acuity environment Requirements Active RN license in California ER/ED nursing experience preferred Ability to work evenings in a 3x12 schedule and participate in weekend coverage as required (every 3rd weekend) Proficiency with Cerner and LaunchPoint EMR; Pyxis med dispensing; ultrasound-assisted IV insertions Demonstrated ability to function effectively in a fast-paced ED environment and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams Benefits and Support Travel assignment support with a dedicated recruiter and assignment coordination Ongoing support throughout the 13-week contract Access to assignment-related resources and coordination as needed Please note: Pay rates and guaranteed hours are estimates and may vary.
