- Performing thorough patient evaluations, ordering relevant diagnostic tests, and developing personalized care strategies
- Identifying and treating acute, episodic, or chronic health conditions collaboratively with physicians or independently (depending on your qualifications)
- Providing education for patients and their families on prevention, health maintenance, and chronic disease management
- Prescribing medications and therapies while adhering to professional regulations
- Engaging in patient follow-up care and chronic disease management
- Working in partnership with interdisciplinary teams to offer cohesive and comprehensive patient care
- Maintaining meticulous electronic medical records (EMR) for accuracy and compliance
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)
- Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
- Active Nurse Practitioner licensure in Louisiana
- National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C, AANP or ANCC) or a comparable specialty
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications (or ability to earn these within 90 days)
- Solid clinical judgment infused with a warm, empathetic approach
- Outstanding communication abilities with patients, families, and healthcare colleagues
- Agility within fast-paced, patient-centric settings
- Proficient in EMR systems and comfortable with telehealth technology
