Job Description
Join Our Dynamic ICU Team as a Night Shift RN!

Job Description:

- Unit Details:
- Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
- 32 beds (licensed for 40), set up in pods of 8
- Charge Nurse present with no patient assignment
- Resource RN available, may take a patient assignment

- Shift Requirements:
- 12-hour Night Shifts: 1830-0700
- Every other weekend commitment
- Available to work 2 of the 3 major holidays

- Orientation:
- Orientation dates: 10/12 and 11/9
- Day 1: 8 hours with ICU educator, 4 hours with preceptor
- Day 2: 12 hours with preceptor

- Patient Care:
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 2:1
- Common diagnoses include higher level-neuro, cardiac, PCI, sepsis, ETOH, stroke, ventrics, TBI, and Camino ICP monitoring
- Advanced procedures: administering drips (pressors, antiarrhythmics, sedation) and managing vents

- Required Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)

- Additional Information:
- Charting system: Cerner
- No acrylic nails or gel polish during assignment
- Floating: may float to Tele and any ED ICU/Tele holds
- IV team and monitoring techs are not available; RNs interpret their own strips
- RT (Respiratory Therapy) and Pharmacy services available 24/7
- Nurse aides typically available on days only

- Experience Preference:
- 3 years of nursing experience preferred
- Participate in huddle report and bedside report
