Lab Director - Cannabis Testing

Viridian Staffing's ( Client is looking for an experienced Cannabis Testing Lab Director in Los Angeles, California.

In this role, you will be responsible for the build out and day-to-day management of an analytical lab facility. You bring with you the experience of managing a staff of Chemists, Lab Techs, and Lab Managers. After instillation is completed, you'll get the opportunity to develop and validate analytical testing methods that are in compliance with requirements set by the State of California's Cannabis Agencies. Using your proven success in testing accuracy in the cannabis industry, you will develop the layout of the lab and standard operating procedures (SOPs), which you will eventually train a team of other Chemists on as well. While developing SOP's/workflows, you'll ensure the team is in compliance with all regulations relating to safety, security, and health as well. You'll use your customer service skills and exceptional written and verbal communication skills, to help convey test results, and when necessary, recommend solutions to licensed cannabis operations.

Ideally, your background should be a Master's degree or higher in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or relevant degree, with 3+ years' experience of laboratory operation experience and at least 1+ years of experience leading in a cannabis testing lab. You should have working knowledge of PCR and analytical instruments such as HPLC, GC, GC/MS, ICP/MS, and/or LC/MS/MS. This position will potentially require work during nights and weekends.

Pay Range: $100,000-$125,000
