Position Overview Behavior Technicians implement ABA treatment programs with CARD patients and families under the direction of a Clinical Supervisor. Treatment plans address skill acquisition and behavior reduction and may occur at CARD centers, patients’ homes, schools, community locations, or via telehealth. Technicians report to the CARD Operations Manager and have no direct reports. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Provide direct treatment to patients in 1:1 or group settings, exceeding CARD’s clinical quality standards. Collect and record data on patient progress with high fidelity. Review and implement Clinical Supervisor feedback during each session. Communicate effectively and compassionately with patients, families, and colleagues. Maintain a safe and supportive environment for all. Seek personal growth and training opportunities to ensure clinical excellence. Maintain accurate and timely records. Maintain compliance with HIPAA requirements. Represent CARD professionally and ethically to internal and external stakeholders. Adhere to CARD policies and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent. Pass initial CARD Behavior Technician Training program, including a comprehensive written exam and field evaluation. Experience working with individuals with autism spectrum disorder (preferred). Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Empathetic and compassionate, maintaining strict confidentiality. Collaborative team player with a positive, solution‑focused attitude. Independent worker capable of providing direct treatment. Effective communicator both verbally and in writing. Excellent time‑management skills in a fast‑paced environment. Desire to continuously learn and develop skills. Willingness to work in a variety of locations (center, home, etc.). Reliable transportation with proof of auto insurance for some locations. Commit to at least six months of employment without major changes in schedule or location. English proficiency (verbal and written) required. Work Environment Treatment may occur in patient homes, CARD centers, schools, community settings, or via telehealth. Technicians work indoors and outdoors, moving between locations during the day. Physical Requirements Work with patients seated on the floor, in chairs, or other home/school/court environments. Move frequently to gather materials, anticipate, and respond to patient movement. Position oneself to respond to patient behaviors, including bending, kneeling, crouching, hurrying, and reaching. Utilize continuous visual tracking of patients and environment. Possibly move to evade or block aggressive behaviors. Occasionally bear weight of a patient who is leaning or pushing. Teach and model vocal speech, listening, and shaping communication. Model gross and fine motor skills as appropriate. Work in various outdoor settings, including diverse weather conditions. Lift up to 30 lbs while assisting patients.
