The Patient Access team is hiring a Patient Access Representative to work in our Emergency Department. Schedule: Full Time, Day Shift, 7:00am -3:30pm. This position will include rotating weekends, holidays, and other shifts assigned. Pay Range: $19.89 - 31.85 / hour based on verified experience.

Position Responsibilities:

• Effectively interviews patients and/or family members and accurately enters patient demographic and insurance information into hospital financial system.
• Routinely performs eligibility and insurance verification of all insurance payors and ensures all pre-certification and authorization requirements are completed with the highest level of accuracy.
• Proficiently determines the need for patient financial counseling and directs patient to appropriate department for assistance in a courteous manner.
• Professionally informs patient of estimated self-pay amounts and collects co-pays/deductibles/deposits in an organized and timely manner.
• Routinely reviews HIPAA regulations to maintain competency and ensure compliance at all times.
• Provides education to patients and family members on the meaning of all forms required prior to obtaining hospital treatment to ensure full completion and verifies patient understanding.
• Proficiently manages and coordinates incoming requests for patient scheduling, as directed by department leadership.

Patient Access Representative Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 6 months- 1 year of fast paced office experience.
• Must have the ability to prioritize and multitask while being attentive to detail with strong administrative skills.
• Must have exceptional customer service and time management skills, be compassionate and patient.
• Must pass a Patient Access test with a score of 75% or higher, administered by Human Resources.
