About PAX Healing

PAX Healing provides mental health and addiction treatment services for adults age 18 and older throughout Worcester County. Our services include substance use disorder (SUD) day programming, psychiatric evaluations, medication management, individual and group counseling, family therapy, case management, and family support services.

We are looking for compassionate, skilled Clinicians/Therapists who are passionate about helping individuals achieve meaningful and lasting recovery.

About the Role

As a Clinician/Therapist at PAX Healing, you will provide outpatient mental health and addiction treatment to adults with a variety of clinical needs, including co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.

You will work closely with clients, families, and a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality, trauma-informed care. You will help clients throughout their treatment journey—from admission and assessment through treatment, recovery planning, and transition to ongoing care.

This position is ideal for someone who is organized, compassionate, clinically strong, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete clinical assessments and identify clients’ mental health and substance use needs.
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on each client’s goals and clinical needs.
• Provide individual and group therapy using evidence-based and trauma-informed approaches.
• Support clients experiencing mental health, substance use, and co-occurring challenges.
• Develop relapse prevention, recovery, and aftercare plans.
• Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
• Provide crisis intervention, de-escalation, and appropriate safety planning.
• Maintain timely, accurate, and thorough clinical documentation.
• Collaborate with psychiatric providers, medical staff, case managers, utilization review, family support staff, and aftercare providers.
• Communicate effectively with clients, families, and members of the treatment team.
• Help clients build the skills and supports needed for long-term recovery and stability.
• Participate as an active member of a multidisciplinary treatment team.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Clinical Psychology, Counseling, Clinical Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related field from an accredited university.
• Experience providing mental health and/or substance use treatment.
• Experience working with diverse populations and individuals from a variety of cultural, socioeconomic, and ethnic backgrounds.
• Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to build trust, rapport, and strong therapeutic relationships.
• Strong crisis intervention and de-escalation skills.
• Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong organization, time management, and prioritization skills.
• Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
• Commitment to ethical, professional, and client-centered care.
• Trauma-informed care experience is preferred.
