This position requires flexibility to work any day of the week, including weekends, and on either day or night shifts as operational needs dictate. The Marine Port Operations Supervisor is responsible for supporting Watco programs, policies, and operational standards to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant terminal operations. This position focuses on accomplishing their customers' operational needs and reducing injuries and environmental risks while maintaining compliance with all applicable regulations. The Marine Port Operations Supervisor also works to support operational performance and financial goals at the shop level through leadership, planning, and execution.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesMaintain consistent, dependable attendance and continually deliver an elevated level of performanceFollow written and verbal instructions to complete assigned tasks accurately and on scheduleCommunicate with team members and managers verbally and electronically by reading, writing, and utilizing professional communication skillsUtilize basic mathematical calculations to calculate flow rates, volumes, rates, and weightsExecute operational procedures through directions, observations, and experience using sound judgmentLead by example and train team members Watco Safety and Operating PrinciplesAssist the Terminal Manager in overseeing daily operations, prioritizing safety, environmental compliance, and financial stewardshipSupervise, lead, train, and develop team members to achieve operational excellenceServe as backup for operators as needed to ensure uninterrupted serviceMaintain flexibility with various shifts, including days, nights, and weekendsEnsure customer satisfaction through efficient, safe, and quality serviceRepresenting the company in customer meetings to build and strengthen relationshipsPromote and maintain a strong safety culture among all team membersEnsure all team members receive proper training and certifications required for their rolesCoordinate routinely with support services to ensure alignment and complianceComplete and maintain all operational documentation and recordkeeping, including billingQualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and be able to pass and/or obtain all reporting, testing, and certifications as required for this position and location.
