TITLE: Home Health Aide (HHA incl. STNA, CNA, PCA, or DoDD DSP)

LOCATION: Clermont County, Ohio and surrounding areas (including adjacent counties if additional clients/hours are desired).

SPECIALIZATIONS:

• Experience & Credentials:
  • Either Active CNA or STNA certification + 1 or more years of paid experience
  • Or Active DSP Certification from Ohio DODD + 1 or more years of experience caring for persons with disabilities AND willingness to care for non-DODD clients.
  • Or +2 or more years of paid home health experience for HHA or PCA without certification.
• Additional Medication Certifications, Hoyer lift experience, specific disease-state care experience, etc., are highly desirable but not required.
• Must be comfortable with clients of all ages and care scenarios, including school-age pediatrics and teens, young adults, adults, and seniors.
• Willingness to care in homes with pets is highly desired.

SCHEDULE & DETAILS:

• Several clients throughout Clermont County are seeking in-home caregivers for various shift scenarios (including combinations of):
  • After-School
  • Evening
  • Late Evening shifts
• Required Shift Availability: Weekdays - Afternoons and/or Evenings (no overnight cases available)
  • Typical shifts range from 2-8 hours per day, with varying weekday start and end times (2-6pm start time / 5-11pm end time)
  • Weekend shifts are rare but may be possible. Candidates seeking ONLY weekends or ONLY AM shifts will not be considered at this time.
• Immediate Start Availability is for Part-Time position: approx. 10 - 24 hours per week (customizable)
  • Requires consistent week-to-week availability (Long-term employment commitment).

EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Long-term, predictable hours and schedule -  Part-time Start (10-24hrs/week) | Potential for Full Time available (not required)

• Additional Clients/Hours may be available during Weekdays and/or Weekends if more hours (part-time or full-time ) are desired, however ability to start immediately with only the listed 22 hours per week is required. Additional cases may be secured over the following 30-60 days, within your agreed-upon travel radius.

TRAVEL: Clients reside throughout Clermont County and surrounding areas.

• Willingness to travel  throughout Clermont County is required.
• Willingness to travel up to a 30-minute radius (from your home) is also required for all caregivers, including clients throughout  Clermont County and surrounding areas (possibly including bordering Hamilton, Brown, Clinton, and Warren counties within this radius).
• Up to 45- or 60-minute client travel radius (from your home) is highly desired for Part-Time caregivers and may be required for Full-Time caregivers.

STARTING PAY RATE:

• STNA / CNA / DSP: $16 - $19 per hour
• HHA / CHHA: $15 - $18 per hour

Hourly Pay is based on experience, travel, qualifications and certifications, skill specializations, positive employment & job tenure history, positive professional references, and overall client & team fit. HCN pays weekly, on Fridays, via direct deposit into your bank account.

• At least 1+ year of verifiable experience in home care or caregiving setting.
• Successful completion of HCN's written skills test and/or competency evaluation.
• Meet/Completion of all training and/or certifications required by the state in which the home health aide services are being provided. This includes specifications of contracted agencies for which services are being provided.
• CPR and First Aide Certifications (active/current certs preferred but may also be obtained prior to hire date through HCN or accredited third party).
• Willingness and aptitude to perform light housekeeping in addition to patient care services as needed.
• Ability to perform all main physical tasks on a regular basis, and willingness to do so safely, is required. Typical Physical Demands include:
  • Frequent: standing, walking, stopping, ending
  • Infrequent: squatting/kneeling, balancing
  • Pushing and handling weight/force: 1-20 lbs. frequently , 20-30 lbs. occasionally , and 30-50 lbs. infrequently
  • Lifting and carrying: 1-20 lbs. frequently , 20-30 lbs. occasionally , 30-50 lbs. infrequently
• Strong track record of attendance, dependability, and employment retention with previous employers.
• Good interpersonal skills and compassion for helping others live their best lives.
• Demonstrated ability to read, write, and follow a written Plan of Care, incorporating attention to detail in following instructions, documenting notes, and communicating with our agency.
• Professional character traits: reliable, honest beyond reproach, punctual, articulate, compassionate, detail-oriented (in care + documentation), accountable, friendly and accommodating, respectful, self-driven, problem-solver, compliant, and confidential.
• Be at lease eighteen (18) years of age.
• Valid driver's license/ID and reliable transportation to/from client care locations.
• Consent and ability to pass a State and/or Federal Background Check.

PREFERRED BUT NOT REQUIRED:

• 3-5 years of paid experience in a home health or caregiving setting.
• Paid experience with a Home Health Agency.
• Formal certification or training program: STNA (or 2026 graduation date) highly preferred; CNA or CHHA still encouraged to apply.
• Specialized certification or training program, such as DODD-DSP, Med Certification, EMR/EHR, etc.
• EMR/EHR experience and proficiency (ContinuLink highly desirable).

GENERAL ROLE SUMMARY

A successful Home Healthcare Aide provides personal care services under the direction of the Registered Nurse or Therapist in their region. You will be assigned to specific clients by the Registered Nurse or other appropriate professionals and perform services for clients as necessary to maintain personal comfort and safety in their home.

As a Home Health Aide, you will :  

• Deliver direct patient care and support, following the established plan of care, to pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.
• Measure and record vital signs and other specified metrics as instructed.
• Assist with personal care tasks and activities of daily living (e.g., bathing, oral hygiene, nail & skin care, shaving, dressing).
• Perform household tasks essential to health care and living at home (e.g., meal preparation/feeding, laundry, light housekeeping).
• Assists patients in taking medications under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse. This includes opening a container or pill caddy & handing it to the patient but does not include administration of the medications.
• Identify and report any abnormal findings or changes in the patient's condition.
• Help with therapy exercises under supervision of our therapists (e.g., range of motion exercises, ambulation assistance).
