Propulsion Technician (OTW) Senior Second Shift – Millennium Space Systems Company Millennium Space Systems, a part of Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS), is a fast, agile small satellite company focused on national security space. The Propulsion Technician’s main responsibility is to execute orbital‑tube welding for satellite propulsion systems and perform fabrication, integration, and testing tasks for space‑flight hardware and related support equipment. Position Responsibilities Perform orbital tube welding for the fabrication of tube subassemblies and final propulsion tank closeouts. Assemble, install, test, route/terminate/stake/wrap thermistors, heaters, non‑flight thermocouples, and heaters on spacecraft assemblies by interpreting blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications, and written assembly, integration, and test procedures. Visually inspect propulsion assemblies to drawings, engineering specifications, and written assembly‑and‑test procedures. Operate materials handling equipment including forklifts, overhead cranes, aerial lifts, flight vehicle and sub‑assembly transportation equipment, truck/tractor‑trailer combinations, and other GSE as required. Travel may be required to support operations identified by the program being supported. Operate a wide range of tools, including orbital tube welding machines, tack welding machines, drill press, grinders, power and hand tools. Interface and work closely with Design and Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing, Materials, Procurement, and Shipping personnel on procedural issues related to design, methods, tooling, cost, and product quality control. Provide support in areas defined by Millennium Space Systems Leadership as business needs require; cross‑train/mentor new hires. Perform other duties as assigned. Basic Qualifications Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in propulsion assembly on high‑reliability products (preferably aerospace). Minimum 1 year experience of orbital tube welding. High School Diploma or GED. Ability to interpret drawings, schematics, harness wiring diagrams, and internal/external specifications. Experience using inspection tooling (calipers, micrometers, DMM, depth gauges, etc.). Exceptional attention to detail. Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. Experience with heater and thermistor installations. Experience with hand and power tools. Experience mixing epoxy materials. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Preferred Qualifications 5+ years of aerospace experience. 5+ years of orbital tube welding experience. 2+ years performing thermal system component installation in aerospace. 2+ years of harness assembly and routing. Security Clearance and Export Control Requirements This position requires a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee. The selected candidate must be able to work any shift as assigned, primarily second shift, with possible additional shift requirements. Total Rewards Grade 24 pay range: $29.42 – $47.09 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
