The Medical Laboratory Scientist will perform, analyze, and report laboratory tests using specimens from multiple sources to support accurate diagnosis and high-quality patient care. The position requires strong attention to detail, technical expertise, and the ability to work effectively in a clinical laboratory environment. Key Responsibilities Perform and report laboratory analyses accurately and efficiently. Receive, identify, process, and manage patient specimens according to established procedures. Verify patient identification and specimen integrity before testing. Operate laboratory instruments and perform routine maintenance. Troubleshoot equipment and testing issues when necessary. Replenish laboratory supplies and maintain adequate inventory. Follow established laboratory testing and reporting protocols. Maintain accurate documentation and records. Assist in training and orienting new laboratory staff. Participate in educational and professional development activities. Maintain current knowledge and competency through required competency assessments and examinations. Follow organizational policies, laboratory procedures, and safety standards. Contribute to a culture of quality, safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Biological Science, Chemistry, Physical Science, Clinical Laboratory Science , or a related field from an accredited institution. Successful completion of an ASCP/NAACLS-accredited Medical Technology or Medical Laboratory Science program , or relevant professional certification. Experience equivalent to a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) is preferred. Strong understanding of clinical laboratory procedures and quality standards. Key Skills Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to manage multiple laboratory processes efficiently. Proficiency in using computers and laboratory information systems. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities. Ability to follow established procedures and protocols. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
