REIMBURSEMENT SPECIALIST

Primary Function

Responsible for compiling accurate and timely CACFP Reimbursement and eligibility reports, as well as maintain organized files on all children's attendance and enrollment forms, food production reports, to include Daily Meal Production Records, food time and temperature records, center health inspections, licenses and other CACFP forms.
Duties

• Responsible for knowing the PCI philosophy and goals in order to provide quality nutrition services to PCI children and families.

• Responsible for reviewing Daily Meal Count and Attendance Records, Center Partnership/Enrollment forms and Eligibility Forms for accuracy and compliance with CACFP regulations.

• Responsible for accurately recording statistical data from each center's Daily Meal Count and Attendance Records to generate computerized reports.

• Responsible for compiling accurate and timely CACFP reimbursement and eligibility reports for submission to supervisor.

• Responsible for assisting in receiving, reviewing and maintenance of all incoming CACFP eligibility documents, to include recording enrollment/withdrawal dates and categorizing eligibility.

• Responsible for assisting in reviewing for accuracy TDA Daily Meal Production Records from all affiliated and unaffiliated centers on a monthly basis.

• Responsible for maintaining organized and complete files on documents from assigned CACFP centers.

• Responsible for maintaining organized system of delivery and receipt of CACFP reimbursement documents required from affiliated and unaffiliated centers, to include preparing, sorting, distributing, and receiving forms.

• Will make pre-visit to all new CACFP sites prior to their entrance into the program.

• Will make an on-site visit to each new CACFP center within the first four weeks of operation during breakfast or lunch.

• Responsible for assisting in conducting on-site CACFP monitor visits at least once every three months.

• Will monitor CACFP sites to ensure DMPR are being implemented to meet CACFP meal pattern guidelines.

• Will monitor CACFP sites to ensure that correct daily attendance records are being completed on time of services.

• Will submit a flex schedule of planned visits on a weekly basis to Center Nutrition Coordinator, for approval.

• Will provide training and technical assistance on an individual basis to all CACFP sites during each on -site visit.

• Will document any problems found during an on-sites CACFP visit by completing a site visit report and reporting serious problems with an attached memo.

• Will work directly with the Center Nutrition Coordinator in assisting with any component function or responsibility.

• Responsible for informing immediate supervisor on current status on reports/files and/or any unusual situations as soon as they occur.

• Will perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

• Reporting Child Abuse - Responsible to report child abuse and neglect or suspected child abuse and neglect in accordance with the policy set forth in the PCI Employee Handbook, Head Start Performance Standards, and applicable state laws regarding child abuse.

• Confidentiality of Information - Responsible to maintain the confidentiality of information pertaining to children, families, and staff as outlined in the Head Start Performance Standards and PCI Employee Handbook.

• Code of Conduct - Responsible for abiding by all standards of conduct as outlined in the Head Start Performance Standards and PCI Employee Handbook.

• Ability to work with individuals with special needs, different ethnic or cultural backgrounds or language.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Responsible for knowing, understanding, and complying with all related aspects of the USDA CACFP regulations, Head Start Child Nutrition Performance Standards, DFPS Minimum Standards, Nutrition Services plans, policies, and procedures. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and current computer applications and software. Must have good written and verbal communication skills.

Education and Experience

High School Diploma/GED. One (1) year experience working in child nutrition program and/ or processing statistical reports.
