Role Overview

As a Maintenance Technician II, you’ll be the go-to problem solver who keeps advanced fabrication equipment running at peak performance. From CNC machinery to PLC-driven systems, you’ll diagnose, repair, and improve the machines that power our production floor.

Compensation & Schedule

• Pay: $22–$30 per hour. Paid Weekly
• Shift Differential: $2.50
• Sign-on Bonus: $1,500
• Schedule: 3rd Shift, Monday–Friday, 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM

A Day in the Life

You clock in at 10:55 PM and start with a safety check—LOTO verified, PPE set. Your first task: trace an intermittent fault on a press brake’s PLC I/O, validate with a meter, and bring the machine back online. Next, you align a gearbox using laser alignment tools to eliminate vibration, then rig and install a replacement motor with proper balance and alignment. By mid-shift, you’re fabricating a custom bracket from stainless and structural steel, wiring a VFD, and updating a parameter set on a FANUC-controlled CNC. Before the shift ends, you document PMs, tidy your area, and hand off clear notes to the incoming team.

What You’ll Do

• Champion safety: follow all policies, procedures, and guidelines to maintain a safe environment.
• Execute mechanical and electrical maintenance: plan and perform repairs and preventive work on industrial machinery and equipment; maintain accurate documentation.
• Troubleshoot with precision: use meters and test equipment to diagnose mechanical/electrical issues; connect wiring to breakers, transformers, and related components.
• Program and debug: work with Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs); understand CNC programming and maintenance.
• Fabricate and install: create and fit mechanical parts (valves, fittings, etc.) using cold rolled steel, stainless, plate, and structural members.
• Rig safely: perform rigging and other safety-related maintenance functions.
• Meet codes: maintain electrical equipment to applicable county, state, and federal regulations.
• Ensure quality: deliver accurate, error-free work while following established safety and quality processes.
• Support the team: maintain a clean, organized workspace; work under direct supervision; perform other duties as assigned.

Skills & Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 4+ years in a manufacturing or industrial environment
• Strong mechanical aptitude; adept at diagnosing and repairing complex systems
• Hands-on troubleshooting of advanced processing equipment, CNCs, material handling, press brakes, lifting devices, and sawing equipment
• Working knowledge of CNC programming in Windows and FANUC environments; understanding of FANUC, CNC, and TwinCAT parameter functions
• AutoCAD and MasterCAM experience preferred
• Competent with VFD and PLC programming/troubleshooting
• Proficient with hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical systems
• Electrical testing proficiency using ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes
• Oxyacetylene torch work and welding skills; must maintain welding certification
• Forklift, high lift, and crane operation; must maintain required equipment certifications
• Comfortable running and testing programs on laser, plasma, and drilling machines
• Proficiency with hand tools: hammer, pliers, screwdriver, wrench, drill, grinder, bander
• Ability to speak, write, and comprehend conversational English

Physical Demands & Environment

• Stand and walk for long periods; walk 2–5 miles per shift
• Frequently bend, sit, stand, twist, and stoop
• Lift/carry 25–50 lbs from floor to waist; front-carry 25–50 lbs repeatedly per shift
• Reach overhead; squat, kneel, and climb short ladders/steps
• Work from ladders, scaffolds, and roofs to install/maintain/repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures
• Maintain precise hand/finger coordination for fine manipulation
• Read labels, follow safety/SOPs, and communicate effectively in an industrial setting
• 20/30 vision with corrective lenses
• Indoor/outdoor conditions with changing temperatures, loud noise, and vibration
• Hazards may include moving mechanical parts, electrical current, high heat, and chemicals
• Atmospheric exposure to fumes, odors, dust, mist, gas, or limited ventilation
• Potential air/skin exposure to oils and cutting fluids
