Director, Translational Sciences-Immunology

Johnson & Johnson seeks a Director of Translational Sciences for its Immunology division in San Diego. This role leads a team of scientists in designing and executing translational biomarker studies and experiments to advance immunology drug candidates, particularly in immuno-dermatology, bridging discovery research and clinical development.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead a team of bench scientists on translational and biomarker initiatives
• Design and oversee execution of translational science plans for immuno-dermatology portfolio
• Identify and validate non-invasive skin biomarker technologies for clinical use
• Partner with discovery, translational medicine, and external collaborators on target validation and disease understanding
• Provide scientific guidance to project teams and communicate study results to inform strategic decisions

Requirements

• Leadership experience managing a team of bench scientists
• Expertise in translational science and biomarker development
• Strong background in immunology and disease biology
• Experience with biomarker validation and non-invasive technology assessment
• Demonstrated ability in cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management
• Knowledge of early-phase clinical trial design and regulatory considerations
