Job Description

Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) Certification and minimum 2+ years Surgical Tech / Operating Room Tech experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Excel in a dynamic surgical team focused on delivering excellence in trauma and advanced surgical care. This contract opportunity is tailored for those with proficiency as an Operating Room Technician (ORT) or Surgical Technologist—both non-certified and certified candidates are encouraged to apply—seeking to contribute in a busy trauma center setting.

Schedule/Hours:

• 12-hour night shifts, Friday through Sunday (6:30 pm – 7:00 am; 36 hours per week)
• Weekend and holiday shifts required per contract terms
• On-call rotation: One weekday evening (3 pm–7 am) and one weekend per month (Friday 3 pm–Monday 7 am)
• Two-week orientation on day shift with buddy call

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• At least two years of relevant surgical experience; one year not accepted
• Strong background in Trauma (without burns), Neuro, General, Vascular surgery, and Ortho spine
• Robotics experience highly desired (Mazor/DaVinci XI preferred)
• Experience with ENT, GYN, Urology, Plastics, Breast, Ophthalmology, and endovascular techniques appreciated
• Certification preferred, but not mandatory
• Ability to adapt within a team structure including ORA, support assistants, charge nurses, and techs

Primary Responsibilities:

• Scrub and assist in high-acuity surgical cases (including trauma and advanced robotics)
• Adhere to protocols for infection control and patient safety
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal case flow
• Maintain instruments and supplies for complex procedures across multiple specialties
• Effectively utilize current technology including Cerner EMR, Plum 360 IV pumps, Omnicell, and Spacelabs monitors
