About the Position

Job Title: RN - Step Down Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Step Down Duration: Long-Term Shift: AM (07:00 – 19:00) Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 18 months of recent cardiac unit experience License: Active RN license in the state of practice Certifications: Required competencies for cardiac care Must-Have: - Ability to independently interpret cardiac rhythms and pass a Dysrhythmia Exam - Experience with cardiac drips including Insulin, Milrinone, Dobutamine, Amiodarone, Heparin, Lasix, Nitroglycerin - Chest tube experience - Common procedures experience, including Right & Left Heart Catheterizations, Stent Placement, and Pacemakers Description: High-acuity, heavily cardiac-focused PCU unit. Travelers should have a strong cardiac background. EPIC experience is required. Typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4 to 1:5. Expect high patient acuity and frequent admissions/discharges. Significant procedural volume is common. Must have experience interpreting telemetry. Must pass the telemetry exam on the first attempt. Experience with common patient populations such as Heart Failure, Atrial Fibrillation, and Ventricular Tachycardia is essential. Travelers may float to similar cardiac/PCU units as needed. Comfort with cardiac acuity and telemetry requirements is important.
