Learn more at Primary Responsibilities The role of Apprentice is an entry level position for individuals interested in building a career in the low voltage electrical systems industry, including security, audio/visual, telecom, and health care communication installations. Under the supervision of licensed technicians, the Apprentice will assist with the installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of low voltage systems while learning trade skills through hands on experience and classroom training. Basic Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required Valid driver’s license required Willingness to enter a state approved Low Voltage apprenticeship program, and complete all associated school coursework Security Clearance required Basic understanding of construction practices and job site safety Familiarity with low voltage systems as described herein, a plus OSHA safety awareness preferred (training will be provided) Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in technical/ low voltage work Ability to follow wiring diagrams and technical instructions to complete installations and repairs Ability to communicate effectively with Project Manager, Project Supervisors, and clients Willingness to work in various environments (Healthcare, education, Prison/ detainment centers, etc.) Ability to use basic hand and power tools safely Must be able to travel throughout New England as required (RI, MA, NH, ME) Must have a reliable form of transportation Must be able to work off hours if/when projects require it (second and third shift) Preferred Qualifications OSHA 10 preferred Compensation $22/hour This job description should not be construed to imply that these requirements are the exclusive standards of the position.
