Job Description

Express Employment Professionals (Athens, TX) is hiring for a client in Elkhart, TX and surrounding areas . If you know your way around structural steel and GMAW with .035 hardwire, we want to talk.

Can you read blueprints and welding symbols without breaking stride?
Do you consistently produce clean, code-compliant welds in flat, horizontal, and vertical positions?
Are you comfortable setting up equipment, inspecting your work, and maintaining a tidy, safe work area?
Are you ready to pass a FlexiblePass AWS D1.1 Weld Test with .035 Hardwire before you start?

What you will handle

GMAW (MIG) welding on structural steel using .035 hardwire.
Reading and applying blueprints, symbols, and fabrication drawings.
Equipment setup, safe operation, and daily checks.
Multi-position welding: flat, horizontal, vertical.
Visual inspection and adherence to AWS D1.1 standards.
Grinding, clamping, and finishing to spec.
Team-based production with strict attention to safety and deadlines.
Workstation organization and housekeeping.

What it takes

2+ years of MIG experience in structural steel or an industrial shop preferred.
Solid grasp of welding procedures, shop safety, and common fabrication tools.
Ability to interpret technical documents and prints.
Physically able to lift 50 lbs and stand for long periods.
