Title: Computer Information Systems and Cybersecurity Adjunct Instructor Position Type: Instructor College: Trinidad State College Division: Academic Affairs Department: TSC Computer Information Systems Campus: Trinidad Main Campus Location: Trinidad Salary Range: $975 per credit hour Who We Are: Trinidad State College, located in Trinidad, Colorado, is a state-supported, two-year institution of higher education. The College was established by an act of the State Legislature in 1925, and is the oldest public two-year college in the State of Colorado. The College’s Service Area includes eight rural counties characterized by low population density and small communities. One campus is located in Trinidad and is a residential campus while the other, located in Alamosa, is a commuter campus. Both campuses serve distinct populations. As a comprehensive Community College, Trinidad State College not only offers ongoing transfer Associate of Arts Degree and Associate of Applied Science (vocational) Degree programs but also has developed and implemented numerous successful short-term vocational certificate programs, and totally inclusive adult education and developmental programs. Duties & Responsibilities: Teach Computer Information Systems and Cybersecurity courses as assigned in classroom, laboratory, hybrid, and online environments. Deliver instruction in accordance with approved curriculum, course outcomes, industry standards, and college policies. Develop and maintain instructional materials, assignments, laboratory exercises, and assessments that support student learning and workforce readiness. Teach foundational and advanced concepts related to computer systems, networking, operating systems, cybersecurity, information assurance, cloud computing, programming, database systems, and emerging technologies as assigned. Supervise and assist students in laboratory and hands-on learning activities. Evaluate student performance and provide timely, meaningful feedback on assignments, projects, and assessments. Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student progress. Utilize instructional technology, learning management systems, simulation tools, and industry-relevant software. Support students through mentoring and academic guidance. Promote cybersecurity best practices, ethical technology use, and professional standards. Participate in departmental meetings, faculty development activities, and program improvement initiatives as appropriate. Assist with recruitment, retention, outreach, and workforce partnership activities as requested. Perform other duties as assigned. Competencies/KSAs: Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in computer information systems, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Administration, Information Security, or a closely related field. Minimum of three years of professional experience in information technology, cybersecurity, networking, systems administration, software development, or a related technical field. Demonstrated knowledge of current computer technologies, cybersecurity practices, and industry trends. Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to utilize learning management systems and instructional technologies. Commitment to student success and workforce preparation. Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in computer information systems, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Assurance, or related discipline. Industry certifications such as: CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, CySA+, Linux+ Cisco CCNA Microsoft certifications Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)
