Patient Account Representative will accurately prepare all Rural Health Clinic, outpatient claims that need to be billed according to the proper methods requested by each individual insurance company for primary and secondary insurance in a timely (24 hrs) manner. 100% responsible for their assigned financial classes, this includes achieving cash collection goals as outlined on a monthly basis, achieving days outstanding in AR at acceptable levels. Requirements 3 years hands on experience with Athena computer system and or similar hospital financial computer system 5 years Medical billing experience and reporting 2 years experience in admissions in a medical setting 2 years telephone collection experience required in a healthcare setting Maintains positive and effective customer service in a healthcare setting 2 years degree in business or equivalent work experience Education / Experience High School Diploma or general education degree (GED); previous healthcare patient account experience preferred. Experience in Customer Service. Intermediate computer skills required. Ability to calculate mathematical equations without the use of a calculator. Candidate must have knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Outlook Express. Complete skills competency test with minimum test score of 85%. Mental and Physical Requirements Ability to read and understand Basic English Ability to lift 30% of your body weight. Continuous movement throughout the hospital Ability to communicate verbally and in writing Ability to interact with all persons in a professional manner in stressful situations.
