Mainframe Programmer
We are seeking a skilled Mainframe Programmer to join our team for a 6-month contract. The role can be performed remotely or from one of our hubs, with a preference for candidates located near Charlotte, NC.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- COBOL - 6 years
- JCL - 6 years
- CA-7 - 6 years
- VSAM - 6 years
- GITLAB - 3 years
- IDZ - 3 years
- IBM Utilities - 5 years
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with GenAI developer tools like GitHub Copilot, Claude, etc.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Participate in Agile ceremonies such as backlog grooming, sprint planning, and daily huddles.
- Work on assigned stories by the Product Owner and deliver as per the sprint plan.
- Support 65 upstream systems for enhancements, documentation, and scheduling fixes.
- Handle ongoing incidents and problem tickets, and implement permanent production fixes if needed.
- Conduct secure code reviews, RFC change requests, UAT migrations, and Prod deployments.
- Participate in DR Exercises and SIRP exercises.
- Manage special quarterly GL production runs, mid-year tasks, and year-end tasks.
- Support audits and regulatory reporting needs.
