Fitness Coordinator

The YMCA of Metropolitan Fort Worth provides a leading non‑profit community impact through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Job Overview This role is responsible for creating, implementing, registering, record‑keeping and delivering wellness programs, leading aquatic functions, ensuring safety and supervising and training staff to maintain a high‑quality member experience. Essential Functions Build a strong atmosphere of teamwork among staff (group exercise, wellness coaches, personal trainers, lifeguards, and swim instructors). Recruit, interview and hire healthy‑living and aquatics staff, subject to the approval of the Executive Director. Maintain a constant focus on member service as the number one priority of the healthy‑living and aquatic departments. Supervise, lead and schedule daily classes and personal training sessions. Manage aquatic programs, enrollments, registrations, marketing, program usage monitoring, check‑in and service procedures, cancellations, changes and accurate processing in program software systems (e.g., Daxko). Track program usage, inquiries, terminations, etc.; prepare daily, weekly and monthly reports and schedules; collect and distribute program evaluations and conduct quality checks and satisfaction surveys. Assist with member relations, service inquiries, complaints and concerns in the aquatic and wellness departments, process new program sign‑ups and financial assistance requests as needed. Handle class attendance counts, monthly schedules and staff payroll for the healthy‑lifestyle and aquatics departments. Promote program awareness through publications, marketing materials, member promotions and community events. Assist in fitness‑equipment maintenance and weekly/monthly checklist reports. Support fundraising and special‑event efforts; serve as a staff liaison for the fundraising team and provide staff leadership for branch special events. Attend all required meetings and YMCA activities. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education & Certifications Bachelor’s degree in a related field or 3 years of related experience. 1–2 years of supervisory experience in a related field (preferred). Certifications: ASHI Basic Life Support (ASHI CPR Pro), First Aid, Lifeguard Certification and Swim Instructor Certification (preferred). Background & Experience Supervisory experience in a member/customer‑service related role. Flexibility in work schedule, including evenings and some weekends. Excellent organizational, member‑engagement, staff‑development, administrative and communication skills. Knowledge and experience working with diverse populations (preferred). High energy, positive, “can‑do” attitude, teamwork and attention to detail; strong initiative required. Compensation & Benefits The YMCA of Metropolitan Fort Worth offers a competitive salary and benefits package. The hourly salary range for this position is $14–$17 per hour, commensurate with experience.
