Job-ID: 7180Location: Dallas, TXJob Code: SP090526Job Type: Full TimeCategory: ITPlacement Manager: Steve PalmerSalary Range: $100,000 to $108,000Our mid-West Dallas area client company is searching for a hands-on MySQL DatabaseDeveloper/Administrator to manage MySQL 8.0 and PostgreSQL 15 databases supporting large-scaleapplication workloads in production and non-production environments.This person will be responsible for the day-to-day management, security, optimization, and support of thecompany’s database environments, with a strong emphasis on SQL query development and performancetuning. The role will also serve as a primary escalation point for database and data-related issues while workingclosely with application engineering, customer care, and other internal teams.The successful candidate will install, configure, upgrade, and patch MySQL and PostgreSQL databases; createand maintain database objects; write and tune SQL, PL/pgSQL, and stored procedures; and review schemadesigns, application migrations, indexing strategies, and query performance. This person will also monitordatabase performance, troubleshoot bottlenecks, and improve performance through slow-query analysis,execution plans, indexing, and server configuration.Additional responsibilities include managing backups, restores, point-in-time recovery, replication, highavailability, and disaster recovery processes. The role will support schema versioning and migration pipelines,implement user access controls and auditing, maintain monitoring dashboards and alerting, automateoperational workflows using Bash, Python, MySQL Shell, or similar tools, and document database standardsand procedures.This position will work closely with developers to diagnose database issues affecting microservices andintegrations, including slow queries, locking, deadlocks, replication lag, and connection-pool problems. TheDatabase Developer/Administrator will also review approved data modifications, execute database changes,support production deployments, and participate in after-hours or weekend on-call rotations when required.Preferred ExperienceExperience with AWS RDS, Aurora, AWS Data Migration Service, Azure Database for MySQL/PostgreSQL,GCP Cloud SQL, Python, Bash, Java Spring Boot, Hibernate, Kubernetes, Redis, partitioning, logicalreplication, or pg_stat_statements is a plus.
