Permit Technician

This is sub-professional and technical permitting work in reviewing construction plans and permit applications, and issuing residential and commercial development permits.

Mobile County - $48,091 - $60,060

City of Mobile - $40,528 - $50,604

City of Saraland - $44,658 - $57,156

Minimum Qualification Requirements: Graduation from a standard senior high school, or the successful completion of the General Educational Development (GED) test, preferably supplemented by college, trade or vocational school coursework in engineering, drafting, architecture or related field, and a minimum of three years of experience reading and interpreting construction, engineering, building or related plans; or a combination of education and experience equivalent to these requirements. Special Requirement Must possess or obtain certification as a Permit Technician from the International Code Council within three years from date of appointment.
