MD-80 First Officer (Non-Type Rated - Training Provided)

The Opportunity As an MD‑80 First Officer, you’ll fly as SIC alongside a seasoned Captain, executing precise, checklist‑driven operations and delivering a polished, passenger‑focused experience. This is a Non‑Type Rated (NTR) opening — successful candidates receive MD‑80 differences and type training as part of onboarding. What You’ll Do Operate the MD‑80 series as SIC, adhering to SOPs, checklists, and company policies. Conduct thorough preflight planning, performance calculations, and weight‑and‑balance with the Captain. Manage radio communications and maintain situational awareness across all phases of flight. Apply strong CRM and threat‑and‑error management to support safe, on‑time operations. Monitor aircraft systems, automation, and flight guidance; cross‑verify data and callouts. Represent the flight department with a professional demeanor and appearance. Minimum Requirements Total time: 2,000 hours Multi‑engine: 500 hours Turbine: 500 hours License: ATP (FAA) Medical: Class 1 Type rating: Not required — training provided Additional Requirements FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit Current passport Valid government ID/driver’s license Ability to obtain and maintain airport security clearance Professional demeanor and appearance Note: Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
