JOB OVERVIEW

• Service Setting: Critical Access Hospital

• Coverage Type: Clinical Only

• Coverage Period: 10/01/2026 – 10/08/2026

- ongoing locum coverage available

• Clinical Shift Schedule: 12-hour shifts

- Day 6:30 AM – 6:30 PM or Night 6:30 PM – 6:30 AM

PATIENT INFORMATION

• Patient Volume/Census: Approximately 13,000 annual ED visits

• Admissions: As Clinically Indicated

• Case Mix: Emergency Medicine

FACILITY INFORMATION

• No. of Beds in Department: 10 ED Beds / 29 Hospital Beds

• Facility Type: Critical Access Hospital

• EMR System: PowerChart / PowerDocs

• Office Equipment Available: Trauma Room, Minor Care, Hazmat, and Triage

• Specialty Backup Available: Obstetrics, Radiology, Urology, and additional specialty care

PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE

• Hospital Privileges Required: Yes

• Credentialing Documents: CME from past 2 years, procedure logs, medical license, BNDD license, DEA license, and current Flu vaccine

• Immunizations / Testing: Tdap; Quantiferon TB or 2-Step PPD; chest X-ray if history of positive TB; MMR x2 or titers; Varicella x2 or titers; Hepatitis B quantitative antibody; COVID vaccine or approved exemption; Flu vaccine

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

• Emergency Stabilization and Resuscitation

• Routine Emergency Medicine Procedures

• Trauma Evaluation and Management

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Licenses: Active Missouri Medical License Required and Must Be in Hand

• Board: Board Certification Required in Hand for Presentation; facility may consider BC/BE Primary Care physicians with Emergency Medicine experience

• DEA: Active DEA Required and Must Be in Hand

• BNDD: Active Missouri BNDD License Required

• Certifications: ACLS Required

• Experience: Emergency Medicine experience required

• Education: MD or DO

• Fellowship: Preferred

• Other Qualifications: Prior travel experience preferred; floating required

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat Emergency Department patients.

• Provide emergency stabilization and resuscitation as clinically indicated.

• Manage trauma, minor care, and general emergency presentations.

• Perform Emergency Medicine procedures within granted privileges.

• Document patient care in PowerChart / PowerDocs.

• Collaborate with nursing, hospital, and specialty teams.
