Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have confidence working with Excel, the ability to juggle tasks and follow written instructions for complex processes.

 

Responsibilities

·         Compile, prepare and reconcile payroll data such as garnishments, vacation time, insurance and 401(k) deductions

·         Calculate changes to pay rates based on time off, overtime, etc.

·         Gather data from multiple sources, and work with many employees and pay scales while keeping it all organized

·         Communicate with employees to help them understand their paycheck and any changes that may occur

·         Research payroll issues and help with the resolutions to ensure that the clients’ expectations are met

·         Manage difficult or emotional client/employee situations; responding promptly to customer needs; soliciting customer feedback to improve service and responding to requests for service and assistance

·         Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll regulations

·         Assist with the day-to-day operations within the payroll department. Ensuring that all payrolls have been completed in a timely manner and are accurate on a daily basis

 

Requirements

·         2 years accounting and/or payroll experience as a Payroll Specialist or in a similar role

·         Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) helpful but not required

·         Proficiency in using Excel, Word and payroll software

·         High School Diploma

·         Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

·         Ability to work with confidential information in a professional manner

·         Ability to handle high volume work
