ESS nurses may have opportunities to work at Elderwood at Hornell and other Elderwood locations based on staffing needs. ESS Benefits Flexible scheduling Ability to pick up shifts based on availability Exposure to multiple clinical settings across Western New York, Central New York and the Adirondacks Responsibilities Direct and monitor the personal care duties and nursing care procedures of Nursing Assistants on the assigned team Assist Nursing Assistants with direct resident care as necessary Report to RN Unit Manager/Assistant Unit Manager or Charge RN Supervisor unusual symptoms and changes of condition, daily needs, and progress of residents Follow the plan of care for each resident and monitor performance of Nursing Assistants in implementing the care plan Receive controlled substances from the shift Supervisory Nurse and be responsible for all aspects of storage and distribution, ensuring proper placement and use of medications Document as applicable in care plans, nursing notes, medical administration records, treatment records and other required records Monitor resident care standards and encourage that residents’ rights and preferences in care and treatment are respected Qualifications Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) with current state license Training and work experience in a geriatric setting preferred Ability to supervise and work well with other personnel Excellent verbal and written communication skills Maturity, diplomacy, and ability to work well with others; caring and respectful attitude towards residents Physical stamina for constant activity Ability to perform tasks to established standards of excellence Willingness to uphold the company’s vision and mission by following core values of integrity, teamwork, passion for excellence, and reverence for the individual Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English at an intermediate or advanced level Equal Opportunity Employer Statement WE ARE AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER.
