Job Description

As a Youth Facility Security Officer - Badge Intake in Columbia SC you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government and more. As an Allied Universal officer at a government juvenile services location you will manage access points verify credentials monitor entry activity and conduct routine patrols to help deter incidents. You will maintain a professional presence communicate clearly with staff and visitors and support a caring orderly environment. What Youll Do:

• Provide customer service to staff visitors residents and/or contractors by carrying out site-specific procedures access-control policies and emergency response activities at a government juvenile services location.
• Monitor access points and verify authorization for entry maintaining visitor logs issuing credentials as assigned and directing individuals according to facility procedures.
• Respond to incidents alarms and critical situations in a calm problem-solving manner notifying appropriate personnel and documenting activities in accordance with site policies.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned access points building areas and perimeter locations to help identify unauthorized access policy concerns and/or unusual activity.
• Prepare accurate reports and maintain required records related to access-control activity incidents visitor management and shift observations.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid drivers license is required in the state where the job is located.
• At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
• X-ray screening experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal state and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid drivers license will be required for driving positions only.
