About the Role
Join to apply for the Department Manager role at McDonald’s. This position is in a franchise-owned restaurant. The franchisee is the employer, not McDonald’s USA. All employment matters, including hiring, firing, discipline, and scheduling, are handled by the franchisee.
Responsibilities
- Lead shifts every week to ensure customers receive fast, accurate, friendly service.
- Manage assigned systems such as Training, Food Safety, and Inventory Management.
- Set goals, delegate tasks, follow up, and report results to the team and other managers.
- For a Guest Service Department Manager: oversee crew and managers to deliver a great customer experience, manage sales promotions, train service staff, and keep the Front Counter McCafé and Drive‑Thru areas organized.
- For a Kitchen Department Manager: ensure high‑quality food is delivered quickly, maintain food safety, control food cost, and train kitchen staff on new menu items.
- For a People Department Manager: hire qualified crew, provide thorough training, schedule to meet sales and profit goals, and recognize and motivate crew throughout their time at the restaurant.
Qualifications
- Previous managerial experience preferred, ideally in a restaurant, retail, or hospitality environment.
- Positive team player with a flexible schedule and a passion for fast‑paced McDonald’s environments.
- Must be 18 years or older.
