Department Manager – McDonald’s Join to apply for the Department Manager role at McDonald’s. This position is in a restaurant owned and operated by an independent franchisee and not McDonald’s USA. The franchisee will be your employer, responsible for all employment matters including hiring, firing, discipline, supervision, staffing, and scheduling. Responsibilities Managers lead shifts every week, ensuring a fast, accurate, friendly customer experience. Some managers also lead departments, managing assigned systems such as Training, Food Safety, and Inventory Management, setting goals, delegating tasks, following up, and reporting results. The Guest Service Department Manager ensures crew and managers deliver a great customer experience, promotions are executed well, all service staff are trained in service procedures, and the front counter McCafé and Drive‑Thru areas are organized for the best service. The Kitchen Department Manager ensures the restaurant delivers high‑quality food quickly, food safety is maintained, food cost is controlled, and all kitchen staff are trained in production procedures, including new menu items. The People Department Manager ensures the restaurant hires qualified crew, trains them well, and schedules them to meet restaurant sales and profit goals. This manager also supports crew morale and recognition. Previous managerial experience is preferred, ideally within a restaurant, retail, or hospitality environment. Candidates must be 18 years or older to be a manager.
