The position will be located in Sacramento or in one of the 18 in-state field offices: Bakersfield, Cerritos, Diamond Bar, El Centro, Fairfield, Fresno, Glendale, Oakland, Rancho Mirage, Redding, Riverside, Salinas, San Diego, San Francisco, San Jose, Santa Ana, Santa Rosa, and Ventura.
Under the direction of the Customer Service Center (CSC) Chief, the Supervisor II, Customer Education and Outreach, directs and oversees CDTFA's statewide customer education, engagement, and outreach programs. The incumbent is responsible for managing, modernizing, and centralizing the Education & Outreach (E&O) program; overseeing a statewide team and leading department-wide efforts to reduce the taxpayer knowledge gap through data driven outreach strategies. The incumbent also develops, implements, and oversees the department's customer sentiment survey efforts, designed to complement and support both the E&O program and broader department-wide service initiatives. The incumbent is accountable for planning, directing, evaluating, and enhancing the department's tax seminar program, customer education initiatives, public facing communication tools, and customer survey processes. This includes implementing innovations to address systemic gaps in taxpayer understanding-particularly in general sales and use tax topics-using analytics, structured statewide coordination, and modern customer engagement strategies. Travel may be required up to fifty percent (50%) of the time, which may include overnight.

Under Government Code 14200, this position may be eligible for partial telework for eligible candidates residing in California. All telework/hybrid schedules require staff to report to the office a minimum number of days per week. Schedules are subject to change.
