Current distribution includes 350+ customers throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, Japan, China, South Korea, Hong Kong, and the Middle East.Primary Duties & ResponsibilitiesThe Shipping and Receiving Supervisor provides direction and coordinates the activities of workers responsible for picking products and preparing them for same-day shipping both nationally and internationally.Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments, and ensures items are prepared for shipmentStudy and standardize procedures to improve the efficiency of workersExamine work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and proceduresEnforce the proper maintenance and record keeping of forklifts, coolers, and other equipment used by the Shipping DepartmentRequired to manage all employees and is responsible for the performance throughout operational hoursWill be required to monitor all cash sale transactions and ensure all currency is accounted for every dayRequired to determine space availability in coolers to ensure proper management of inventoryWill be required at times to assist workers performing office clerk duties, shipping, and receiving activitiesDetermine, as per Famous, which orders are required to be shippedEnsure employees are preparing future orders as designated by FamousPerform department reports on a weekly basis and inform upper management personnel of any changesRequire that all safety procedures be followed by employeesReport any unsafe acts that occur within the facilityMaintains departments ISO procedures and work instructions up to dateOversees warehouse inventory accuracy and management throughout the departmentResponsible for on-site safety, environment, health, and site securityAccepts the supervisory role as it is intended, including the ability to lead, motivate, and instill confidence and cooperation among the employeesWill be required to perform various tasks outside his/her job descriptionEducation & ExperienceAssociate's degree or equivalent experienceMinimum 5 years of shipping and receiving experience in a lead or supervisory roleFamous experience, a plusSkillsAttention to DetailBilingual in English and Spanish is a plus, but not requiredLeadership competencies that lead and inspire others – drives for exceptional resultsProficient computer skills required – Word, Excel, and OutlookExcellent verbal and written communication skillsWorking HoursMust be willing to work flexible schedules; able to work Saturdays and, in special circumstances, SundaysPhysical Requirements/Working ConditionsThe essential functions of this job require frequent standing, walking, and upper-body movements. Specific vision acuity required by this job includes close vision, the ability to adjust focus, and color vision when cleaning products. Physical demands include bending, stooping, and reaching above and below shoulder level. Lifting and carrying are also essential. The employee will also be in contact with chemical products and machinery.Additionally, the incumbent will work near moving mechanical parts and stacks, and may be exposed to heights and surfaces. There is moderate noise in the work environment. The incumbent for this position may be on call for emergencies, as required by business needs.The noise level is frequently quiet or moderately quiet, at or below 70 decibels, and in the product plant areas, noise levels can exceed 80 decibels when machinery is operating.The incumbent may be exposed to situations that involve occasional lifting (up to 50 lbs.), with or without assistance. There will be exposure to working in hot or cold environments (38°F-60°F) and frequent exposure to hot or wet (humid) locations.
