We are a privately held company with approximately 100 employees and a strong commitment to our people, our customers, and our community.Position SummaryRoger’s Gardens is seeking a Part-Time Payroll Assistant to support accurate, timely, and confidential payroll processing for approximately 100 employees.This position is ideal for an experienced payroll professional who enjoys working in a hands-on environment and takes pride in accuracy, organization, and follow-through. The Payroll Assistant will work closely with Human Resources, Accounting, and managers throughout the organization to ensure employees are paid accurately and on time.The ideal candidate will have prior payroll experience, strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive employee and compensation information.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist with biweekly payroll processing for approximately 100 employeesReview employee timecards and timesheets for accuracy and completenessAudit hours, overtime, vacation/PTO, sick time, and other payroll-related informationEnter and maintain payroll data in the company’s Paycom systemProcess payroll adjustments, corrections, and other payroll transactionsMaintain accurate employee payroll recordsRespond to employee questions regarding paychecks, deductions, timekeeping, PTO, and other payroll mattersCoordinate with managers to resolve timekeeping and payroll discrepanciesAssist with payroll reporting, audits, and reconciliationSupport payroll-related compliance requirements and recordkeepingAssist with year-end payroll activities, including W-2 preparation and reconciliationMaintain strict confidentiality of payroll, compensation, and employee informationProvide general administrative support to Human Resources and Accounting as neededQualifications2+ years of payroll experience preferredExperience processing payroll for a small- to mid-sized organizationExperience with Paycom or another HRIS/payroll system strongly preferredStrong understanding of payroll practices and California wage-and-hour requirementsHigh level of accuracy and attention to detailStrong organizational and time-management skillsAbility to identify discrepancies and independently follow through to resolutionExcellent communication and customer-service skillsAbility to handle confidential information with discretionProficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly ExcelHigh school diploma or equivalent required; additional accounting, payroll, or HR education is a plusSchedulePart-time, approximately 20–24 hours per week.Schedule can be structured around the payroll cycle, with availability on key payroll processing days required.
