Oncology RN: Direct Patient Care & Chemotherapy

Job Summary As a Registered Nurse, you will deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in line with department requirements and state regulations. You will collaborate with medical providers and the care team, advocate for patients and families, and embody the organization’s vision, mission, and values to ensure outstanding patient experiences and positive clinical outcomes. Responsibilities Assess patient condition during admission and each scheduled shift, promptly identifying and reporting any changes in status. Perform procedures, monitoring, and other functions as ordered by the medical provider, administer prescribed medications, monitor therapeutic response, and take appropriate action in the event of an unintended response, ensuring thorough and timely documentation. Provide exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests, proactively anticipating patient needs, and resolving them. Educate patients, families, and caregivers about the patient’s medical condition, treatment plan, medications, possible side effects, and follow-up measures, ensuring complete understanding by translating complex medical terminology. Qualifications Basic Cardiac Life Support certification. Registered Nurse (RN) license. Oncology Chemotherapy/Biotherapy or Fundamentals of Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy Administration certification obtained within 6 months of employment start date.
