Patient Registration Representative

As a Patient Registration Representative, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and support to patients during the registration process. Your primary focus will be on ensuring a positive customer experience through efficient and accurate completion of administrative and clerical tasks.

Responsibilities:

• Collecting and inputting accurate patient information into the Electronic Medical Record system to maintain the integrity of health records.
• Scheduling appointments, verifying demographic and insurance information, and completing pre-registration tasks to facilitate accurate billing.
• Identifying situations where clinical healthcare staff intervention is necessary and coordinating patient flow efficiently.
• Maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
• Assisting in Care Coordination services and contributing to Quality Improvement and Quality Assurance activities.
• Handling Prior Authorizations, referrals, and providing specialist resource information.
• Tracking and logging patient data accurately.
• Attending meetings and performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
• Minimum of 1 year of customer service experience in a healthcare setting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer literacy.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate's Degree in a related field.
• In-depth knowledge of medical terminology.
• 3 years of experience in high-level customer service and relevant healthcare roles.
• Experience with Electronic Medical Record systems.

Physical Requirements:

• This role involves periods of sitting, standing, walking, bending, and job-related stress.
• Evening or weekend work may be required, and occasional lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying objects up to ten pounds may be necessary.

Please note: The position of Patient Registration Representative is represented by United Healthcare Workers East, Local 1199, with a pay range of $16.76 - $20.24/hr. based on experience.
