NO EXPIERENCE NECESSARY THE POSITION: The Pre-Owned Vehicle Salesperson is directly responsible for selling used vehicles meeting gross profit, volume and customer satisfaction standards. Must present a professional appearance. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form. Education and Experience: High School Diploma or GED Valid driver’s license and satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) are required. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Determine each customer’s vehicle needs by asking pertinent questions and carefully listening. Demonstrate used vehicles, including test drives. Know the incoming inventory to include features, accessories, etc. and how they benefit customers. Deliver used vehicles to customers. Ensure the customer understands the vehicle’s operating features, warranty and maintenance schedule while laying the foundation for customer loyalty. Maintain an owner follow-up system that encourages repeat and referral business and contributes to customer satisfaction. Review with the Used Vehicle Sales Manager monthly objectives, weekly activities, and daily planned activities. Understand the terminology of the automobile business and be informed on technological changes in the products and be able to communicate to customers. Know and understand the federal, state, and local laws which govern retail auto sales. Introduce customers to Service department personnel to emphasize the quality and efficiency of service repairs and maintenance available in the Service department. Report any vehicle lot damage or any problems with a vehicle to the Sales Manager immediately. Complete all training as directed by supervisor. Follow policies and procedures as set forth in Employee Handbook. Any other duties as assigned. Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions. Occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Regularly required to stand, talk, and hear. Frequently is required to walk and sit. Is potentially exposed to exhaust fumes or other airborne particles. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and peripheral vision.
