Role Description
- Conduct thorough evaluations for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients utilizing standardized assessments and observational skills.
- Craft individualized treatment strategies that cater to both short-term objectives and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing requirements.
- Deliver targeted one-on-one speech therapy sessions aiming at enhancing communication, language fluency, voice, and swallowing capabilities.
- Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team including physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to ensure comprehensive care approaches.
- Provide education to patients and their families to foster progress beyond the clinic.
- Participate in occasional inpatient evaluations and therapeutic interventions to ensure seamless care during the entire treatment process.
- Document treatment facets accurately and punctually in adherence to state, federal, and organizational protocols.
- Engage in continuous learning and peer discussions to stay at the forefront of speech-language pathology innovations.
Required Education
- A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Successful completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if you have not yet obtained ASHA certification.
Certification Requirements
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within the first 30 days of employment.
