Nursing assignments include 1-2 pts with diagnoses: CABGs, valve repair/replacements, aortic surgeries, VADs, total artificial hearts, and heart/liver/kidney transplants. Thoracic cases/ esophagectomy and vascular surgeries. Invasive hemodynamic monitoring, titration of vasoactive IV medications, post-op recovery care, CRRT, ECMO, Impella, IABP, Heartmate, Heartware Special Procedures/Unit Details : Provide oversight for circulatory assist devices to include: include Heartmate II and Heartmate III LVAD, CentriMag RVAD/LVAD, Heartware HVAD, Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation, Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy, Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump, and the Total Artificial HeartRequired skills/experience (at least 3's on the skills checklist):CRRTIABPRecover post-op cardio-thoracic surgeryECMOLevel I trauma experience and academic facility experienceInvasive hemodynamic monitoringWill consider surgical trauma ICU nurses if they have level I trauma experience, academic facility experience and are very strong in the above skills. Special Equipment : EndotoolNXSTAGE CRRT (specific experience with NXSTAGE not required) #Tier3 Travel Compliance SSN DOB RTO should be included at the time of submission (will be approved by unit manager on WOC; no other guaranteed time off. VCU has a natural nail policy. All ER and Psych candidates are required to submit to fingerprinting as outlined in the code of Virginia, 37.1-183.3. The average turnaround time for the results is 15-20 business days. Candidates are NOT allowed to start with results pending. Please plan start dates accordingly. Modules: All VCU candidates will be assigned modules during orientation on the VCU Learning Exchange. Modules are non-billable, average 6 hours of modules factored in NBO Modules are completed during orientation, and vary by specialty.
