Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13 Weeks | Full-Time | Onsite | Days | Variable 4x10 shifts with start times of 7:30 AM, 8:00 AM, or 9:00 AM | 40 hours per week | Weekend on-call every 5th weekend | Holiday rotation | One night of on-call per week for 4 out of every 6 weeks with a 30-minute response time

Key Responsibilities

• Provide post-anesthesia recovery care to patients in a 14-bay PACU unit at a 1:2 patient ratio
• Monitor and manage recovery for patients following general, spine and neuro, GI, ENT, cardiac, peripheral vascular, and orthopedic procedures
• Stabilize ICU-level patients prior to transfer to the intensive care unit
• Participate in on-call rotation including nights and weekends with a 30-minute callback response time and a minimum 2-hour callback shift
• Adhere to all facility infection control policies, including masking requirements during flu season if vaccination is declined

Required Qualifications

• Active Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license
• American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification
• ACLS certification
• PALS certification
• Minimum 2 years of PACU experience with recent hospital experience
• Experience with post-cardiac and pediatric patient populations

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Proficiency with Epic EMR strongly preferred; candidates without Epic experience must have prior electronic health record charting experience
• Experience managing a high-volume PACU environment with approximately 35 patients per day
