Hotel House Person

Where Coastal Elegance Meets Craftsmanship Tucked between whispering pines and the churning blue of Carmel Bay, La Playa Hotel has stood as a storied landmark since 1905 — a place where European garden charm meets California coastal soul. Here, in one of the most photographed villages in America, your work becomes part of the scenery. We’re seeking a meticulous, energetic professional to help orchestrate the quiet magic that happens behind every perfectly turned-down room. The Art Behind the Experience This isn’t simply moving linens from point A to point B. This is precision. This is pride. This is the invisible choreography that transforms a guest room into a sanctuary. You’ll be the engine behind our housekeeping team’s excellence — keeping closets stocked, rooms pristine, and every detail dialed in so our guests never have to think twice. Your Daily Rhythm: Transport clean and soiled linens with speed and care. Strip departure rooms, clearing the way for the next guest’s story to begin. Flag any maintenance needs to Housekeeping or Engineering before they become problems. Show up, every time, ready to go. Champion a safe, sharp, well-run workspace. What You Bring to the Table You’re not easily rattled. You thrive on momentum, juggle priorities like second nature, and take quiet satisfaction in a job done right. Weekend and holiday availability is a must — because in Carmel, that’s when the magic happens. The Essentials: Six months of related experience. Comfort working independently, with sharp instincts and a steady pace. Clear, fluent communication in English. Valid documentation to work in the US. Must meet legal age requirements. Built for Movers and Doers This role calls for stamina and stride — standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 pounds while keeping multiple tasks moving in sync. If you like staying active and dislike sitting still, you’ll feel right at home. A Climate as Dynamic as the Work Carmel by the Sea doesn’t do boring weather. Expect crisp winter mornings near 30 degrees and golden summer afternoons pushing past 80 — all wrapped in that unmistakable Pacific mist that makes this stretch of coastline famous. Protective equipment, including gloves and masks when needed, will be provided for safe handling of cleaning materials. More Than a Job — A Front-Row Seat to Something Special Carmel by the Sea is a town without street addresses, stoplights, or pretense — just cypress-lined lanes, world-class art galleries, and a beach where dogs outnumber rules. Working at La Playa means being part of this storybook community, just steps from the Pacific, surrounded by natural beauty most people only see on vacation. La Playa Hotel's and Hotel Carmel’s leaders and team members believe each guest should be treated with respect and professionalism. We create a heartfelt experience of genuine hospitality, enticing our guests to return again and again. In order to be successful at La Playa Hotel and Hotel Carmel, associates must share both our Purpose (Making Space for Genuine Hospitality) and Pillars (Hands On & Heartfelt, Sincere & Focused, Collaborative & Curious, & Conscientious). This includes possessing and demonstrating a high level of courtesy and respect for both internal and external guests. Our forward-thinking, fun, friendly, engaging and enthusiastic associates treat every guest as if they were our only guest. A true customer focus is essential to success with our property. #J-18808-Ljbffr La Playa Hotel
