Private Equity Senior Associate

A Charlotte-based private equity firm is seeking a Senior Associate to join its growing investment team. The firm focuses on investing in lower middle-market businesses across a variety of industries , partnering closely with management teams to drive operational improvements, execute strategic initiatives, and accelerate long-term growth.

This role offers the opportunity to work across all phases of the investment lifecycle , including transaction execution, financial analysis, due diligence, portfolio company oversight, and value creation initiatives. The Senior Associate will collaborate closely with senior investment professionals in a lean, entrepreneurial environment and take on a high level of responsibility from day one.

Senior Associate Qualifications

• 3-5+ years of combined investment banking, private equity, or relevant transaction experience.
• Strong financial modeling, valuation, due diligence, and analytical capabilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work directly with management teams and external advisors.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Prior private equity experience preferred.

Senior Associate Responsibilities

• Evaluate new investment opportunities through industry research, market analysis, and detailed financial modeling.
• Lead and support due diligence processes, coordinating with third-party advisors and preparing investment committee materials.
• Develop and maintain operating models, valuation analyses, and transaction materials.
• Work directly with portfolio company management teams to support strategic initiatives and operational improvements.
• Monitor portfolio company performance and contribute to value creation efforts across the portfolio.
• Assist with transaction execution, including acquisitions, recapitalizations, and exit processes.
• Contribute to the firm's collaborative, hands-on culture and ongoing investment sourcing efforts.
