Position Summary:

The University of Maryland Capital Region Medical Center is seeking a Full-Time Evening Shift Patient Care Technician to join our Operating Room team.

As a Patient Care Technician, you will work alongside surgeons, registered nurses, anesthesia providers, and perioperative staff to help deliver safe, efficient, and compassionate care before, during, and after surgical procedures.

Full-Time Evening Shift | 2:45 P.M. to 11:15 P.M. | Current Maryland CNA Certification Required.

Key Responsibilities:

The following statements describe the general nature and level of work performed and are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities.
• Transport patients safely to and from the Operating Room.
• Assist with patient positioning and preparation for surgical procedures.
• Obtain and document vital signs as directed.
• Observe, monitor, and promptly communicate changes in patient condition to the assigned licensed nurse.
• Prepare, stock, organize, and maintain Operating Room supplies and equipment.
• Assist with Operating Room turnover between surgical cases to support efficient patient flow.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe perioperative environment.
• Inspect equipment for proper function and promptly report safety concerns.
• Adhere to infection prevention, sterile technique, and patient safety standards.
• Support emergency response activities as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Full-Time Evening Availability Required

Monday through Friday | 2:45 p.m. - 11:15 p.m. | No Weekend Requirement.

Licensure & Experience:
• Current Maryland Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in good standing required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Minimum of one (1) year of direct patient care or healthcare experience required.
• Previous hospital or acute care experience preferred.
• Ability to safely lift, transfer, and transport patients.
• Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.

Compensation:

• Pay Range: $18.37 - $29.90 per hour.
• Shift, Weekend, and Holiday Differentials Available.
