Job Description\n American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Cardiac Stepdown for a travel nursing job in Austin, Texas.Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: Cardiac Stepdown\n Discipline: RN\n Start Date: 10/11/2026\n Duration: 13 weeks\n 36 hours per week\n Shift: 12 hours, days\n Employment Type: Travel\n \n Assignment Overview\n \n Shift: Days, 3x12hrs\n Hours: 36 hrs/wk\n Start Date: Oct 11, 2026\n Length: 13 weeks\n Openings: 1\n Description\n American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiac Telemetry position requiring cardiac-trained skills and a willingness to mentor new staff.Details\n \n 30-bed Acute Care Cardiac Telemetry Unit within a Stepdown Intermediate Care setting\n Day shift schedule from 06:45 to 19:15\n 13-week assignment\n Cares for patients with chest pain, congestive heart failure, advanced heart failure, and syncope\n Supports patients undergoing echocardiograms, stress tests, and diagnostic or interventional heart catheterization\n Handles specialized cardiac procedures such as Mitraclip, Watchman, Tykosyn initiation, and TAVR\n May overflow to care for general med/surg or non-cardiac patients as needed\n First to float to one of five other acute care med/surg units typically staffed at 5:1 ratios\n Requirements\n \n Active RN license (TX or Compact) currently in hand\n Current BLS and ACLS certifications through AHA\n Minimum of 1 year of relevant RN experience required\n Cardiac telemetry experience strongly preferred\n Nursys license verification required within 30 days prior to start\n Current license and primary source verification required within 30 days prior to start\n Additional Information\n \n Provide direct patient care within a high-acuity cardiac telemetry environment\n May assist in precepting and training new hires as the unit rebuilds its core staff\n Requires a high degree of engagement and willingness to support unit growth initiatives\n Radius rule applies allowing local candidates but potentially at a reduced rate depending on distance from facility\n First-time travelers may be considered for this position\n \n \n American Traveler Job ID #P-755668.
