Finance Manager

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Finance Manager in Sterling, VA. Summary: We are seeking an experienced Finance Manager to oversee financial planning, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and business analysis activities. This individual will partner with operational leaders to drive financial performance, support strategic decision making, and ensure accurate financial reporting. The ideal candidate is analytical, collaborative, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities:

Lead the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes
Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, variance reports, and key performance indicators
Partner with department leaders to evaluate business performance and identify opportunities for improvement
Develop financial models and business cases to support strategic initiatives and investments
Monitor revenue, expenses, cash flow, and profitability trends
Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and internal controls
Coordinate month-end and year-end close activities with the accounting team
Present financial results and recommendations to senior leadership
Support audit requests and provide required financial documentation
Manage and mentor finance and accounting staff as assigned
Drive process improvements and enhance financial reporting capabilities
Assist with special projects, acquisitions, system implementations, and strategic planning initiatives
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
5+ years of progressive finance or accounting experience
Previous experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools
Strong understanding of financial statements and accounting principles
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Strong communication skills with the ability to present financial information to non-financial stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications:

MBA, CPA, CMA, or other relevant certification
Experience managing direct reports
Experience in construction, manufacturing, healthcare, government contracting, nonprofit, or professional services environments
