Make a meaningful impact supporting students’ academic, social, and emotional growth in a school-based social work role. Working onsite, you’ll provide essential services to approximately 40 students across two elementary schools and a preschool classroom. This contract opportunity runs from August 24, 2026, through May 14, 2027, with a consistent schedule of 37.5 hours per week.

Key Qualifications:

• Approval from the Michigan Department of Education as a School Social Worker
• Experience working with elementary and/or preschool-age students is strongly preferred
• Strong skills in communication, collaboration, and advocacy within a school environment
• Ability to assess and support a range of student needs, fostering inclusive educational experiences
• Compassionate approach, equipped to help students navigate academic and social-emotional challenges

Core Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct social work services to students to promote positive school adjustment and success
• Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to develop intervention strategies focused on student well-being
• Assess student needs and provide relevant counseling, referrals, or community resources
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to Individualized Education Program (IEP) planning and implementation
• Maintain timely and thorough documentation in accordance with district and state guidelines
• Support the development of positive school climates in both elementary and preschool settings
