We are looking for a Customer Service Representative to support resident-facing services for a local office in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. This Contract position is expected to run for 6 weeks with the possibility of extension and will work onsite during regular weekday business hours with some flexibility. The person in this role will serve as a key point of contact assisting visitors and callers, processing payments, and providing administrative support across multiple city functions.

Responsibilities:

• Welcome residents and visitors at the front desk, respond to routine questions, and guide individuals to the appropriate city department for assistance.

• Manage incoming phone calls and provide courteous, accurate information while ensuring inquiries are directed or resolved efficiently.

• Accept and process resident payments, including utility-related transactions, with careful attention to accuracy and documentation.

• Review account and address details, confirm customer information, and check billing balances when assisting with utility payment questions.

• Provide service window support by handling walk-in requests and maintaining a helpful presence.

• Assist the administrative team with clerical tasks that support functions such as human resources, the manager's office, and the clerk's office.

• Use Outlook and related office tools to support scheduling, calendar coordination, and day-to-day administrative communication.

• Take initiative to identify where support is needed across offices and contribute to coverage during a period of staffing transition

• Previous customer service experience in a high-volume environment involving phone and in-person interaction.

• Ability to handle front desk responsibilities, payment processing, and administrative duties with strong attention to detail.

• Familiarity with utility billing, account verification, or related billing support processes is preferred.

• Comfortable using Outlook and other office technology for calendars, communication, and basic administrative tasks.

• Strong communication skills with the ability to remain attentive to detail and helpful when assisting residents and internal staff.

• Self-motivated approach with a willingness to seek out work, adapt quickly, and support multiple departments as needed.
