Director, Competitive & Strategic Insights, Oncology Lead

Director role leading competitive and strategic insights for AbbVie's oncology pipeline, from preclinical to late-stage assets. Provides objective competitive landscape analysis, supports clinical development decisions, and influences asset strategy across multiple indications and emerging mechanisms of action.
Responsibilities
- Generate R&D competitive intelligence and strategic insights across oncology indications (SCLC, neuroendocrine, HNSCC) and emerging mechanisms (ADC, TCE, CAR T)
- Develop and execute comprehensive CI plans embedding research and clinical insights across oncology assets
- Advise senior management on competitive intelligence topics and implications for pipeline strategy
- Create and maintain clinical knowledge repositories and standard CI deliverables (conference coverage, competitive landscapes, alerts)
- Partner with internal stakeholders across R&D, business development, medical affairs, and discovery to align competitive insights with organizational priorities
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in health or life sciences; advanced degree (PhD, PharmD) preferred
- 7-9 years pharma/biotech experience with 3-5+ years in competitive intelligence or market research
- Broad expertise with competitive intelligence methodologies
- US market experience required; multi-regional experience preferred
- Superior analytical skills with understanding of R&D processes
- Proficiency with global and regional CI vendors and clinical assessment tools
- Strong oral, written, and presentation skills with ability to communicate to senior leadership
